The Kyiv region is a large medical center of Ukraine. It has 1041 medical institutions, including 135 ambulatory and polyclinic institutions, 25 central district hospitals, 5 district hospitals, 717 obstetrician wards, 13 children’s hospitals, 2 nursing orphanages, 2 children’s health resorts.

The polyclinic and stationary institutions have a high level of specialization, which meets the public demand. The most important of them is the surgical department of the regional clinical hospital, the surgical and oncological departments of the regional oncological dispensary, clinical and infectious departments of the regional children’s hospital.

In the department of oncological hematology in 2000 for the first time in Ukraine was performed a surgery of donor transplantation of stem blood forming cells.

The results of the activity of the departments are among the best in Ukraine and correspond to the level of the world’s best achievements.
