The Kyiv region has 888 clubs, 852 of them belong to the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Ukraine, 913 libraries, 3 recreation parks, 16 state museums and over 240 public museums, 57 schools of artistic education, a college of culture, a refresher course for culture workers, a regional center of folk arts and crafts, a center of preservation of history, archaeology and art monuments. The regional concert and artistic organization “Kyivschyna”, the Bila Tserkva P. K. Saksahansky Ukrainian dramatic and musical city theatre, a house of organ and chamber music represent professional art.

 

 

The administrative and organizational support of the sector is provided by the Board of Culture and 35 district and town departments of culture.

The concert and artistic organization “Kyivschyna” performs modern music and vocal art within the region and beyond it.

The activity of the regional institutions of culture nowadays is aimed at the revival and development of the national culture, specifically, folklore, traditional crafts, folk customs, holiday rites.

31 music schools, 25 schools of arts and a school of design attend to the aesthetic education of approximately 15 thousand children. The great historical and cultural potential of the Kyiv region is determined by its millennial history. Nowadays on the territory of the region there are more than 6 thousand immovable monuments of archaeology, architecture, history and landscape gardening. 8 cities and towns of the region are included in the list of the historic places of Ukraine (Vyshhorod, Buhuslav, Vasylkiv, Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky, Bila Tserkva, Rzhyschiv, Fastiv, Yahotyn). Unique collections are displayed in 2 state preserves, 14 state museums and 241 public museums.
